Basement Freaks: It´s funky, darling!
Basement Freaks attempt to redress the balance with their second studio album “Funk From The Trunk” which shows the boys in full P-Funk flow.
From opening track “A Blues Thang” to the last gasp of album closer “The Last Train” – you know you are listening to young soul rebels who have found their full funky flow.
Producer George Fotiadis won a lot of fans as a leader of the burgeoning ghetto funk scene and while that scene is still big internationally, there are no wobble bass lines here, just block rocking hip hop beats, funky wah wah guitars and funky as flip vocals from longtime collaborator and fellow Freak Georges Perin as well as guest spots from Mustafa Akbar of Nappy Riddem, Charlie Funk and MC Rayna.
“Funk From the Trunk” is a step on from Something Freaky – their debut. That album spawned a hit single which was licensed to a US TV show further upping the Freaks credibility over in Hollywood.

Chookie proudly presents REVOLUTION REMIXED - the remix redux of the debut EP from the australian beauty KLP.
The remix EP showcases KLP‘s varied influences from around the globe. Remix master, UK’s THE REVENGE gives ‘Tropical’ his special treatment. While Adelaide-via-Chicago artist, the DFA-signed JAMES CURD adds some sparkle to the same track.
KLP‘s collaborator and label boss DCUP gives “Hands” a fresh workout, while rising star, NY-based dj SAARID also adds his touch to “Hands” with a slight throw back to 90′s house.
The Ep will be out the 27 of May in the meantime warm your self up with the free download Of “Tropical” (The Revenge Dub) Remix. It´s fresh and sweet, already in my pocket!

Dantiez Saunderson & White Chocolate: “Logarythm”
As one of three children, Dantiez Saunderson, was born and bred in Michigan and is the middle son of recording artist (and techno pioneer) Kevin Saunderson and singer/songwriter Ann Saunderson. So you would imagine that it was a “given” that Dantiez was automatically going to establish a career for himself in the music industry. However, you would be sadly mistaken.
It wasn’t to be until 2012, at the age of 20 that Dantiez decided to take a plunder into the music industry. His productions reflect all sides of his personality (depending on his mood and the time of day) and for anyone who knows Dantiez, that would certainly be a true assessment. His influences are definitely infused with Detroit, although his productions are energetic. He’s found a nice balance between underground, fused with a pop vibe, mixed with a touch of Tech House and Techno.
Dantiez’s musical partner, Kevin Castro aka White Chocolate, was born in Columbia (and raised in Queens, New York). He is well acquainted with his ‘House/Techno’ roots. Currently residing in Miami, White Chocolate’s sound is rich and deep. His musical influences definitely stem from the Techno sounds of Detroit. To date, his music has been supported by artists such as Kevin Saunderson, Reboot and Supernova. This versatile, young, producer experiments with Tech House, Techno and Minimal.
