Radio Maki Live Session at Urban Spree.
Radio Maki is the sound project of Wrangelkiez host by two berliner musicians Magritte Jaco and Kritzkom. This is a pirate sound scape into live music, concert, performance interspersed with interviews and accidents. It has naturally found its space on the web as a podcast and tend now to become A LIVE SESSION!
CARL SCHILDE Live Sound performance/ In Pulse
Carl Schilde is a true Berliner artist co founder of the experimental Heavy Listening Label. Their first collaborative project TIEFDRUCKGEBIET – a mobile sub-bass concert for twelve tuned cars – won first price at Berlin’s 48h Neukölln Festival. Their second project #tweetscapes – Germany’s first real-time Twitter sonification – received a Prix Ars Electronica Award. In November 2012 they released WOW – the most minimalrecord ever made. Always an advocate of minimalist cool, he also founded instrumental rock band The Pattern Theory , toured Europe extensively and released an album on Valeot Records (Cargo/Darla), which enjoyed worldwide radio-play. Amongst many other projects, Carl was also a member of ex-Can singer Damo Suzuki’s live band.

El Segundo: Instinctive Travels to the Hauptstadt
Every city is to some extent both a benefiter and prisoner of its own myth and cliché – and Berlin is a prime example of this phenomena. For many years now the German capitol is internationally hailed as creative capitol and concurrently elected by a young generation of creatives from around the globe as unique artistic haven and libertine playground.
The group exhibition El Segundo. Instinctive Travels to the Hauptstadt curated by Lukas Feireiss at Urban Spree Galerie takes a personal look at some of the most prevailing myths concerning the UNESCO ”City of Design” from the perspective of a group of Rotterdam-based Dutch artists.

Interview with Jemek Jemowit
I met Jemek Jemowit almost three years ago downstairs in White Trash’s Diamond Lounge. We were both about to rock the stages that night and my band was a virgin to Berlin’s heavy electro underground scene. Since then I’ve been hooked to Jemek’s sound and friendship and it was a pleasant surprise when I was asked to interview him on his forthcoming album TEKKNO POLO.
Hey Jemek, how are you?
I’m fine, thanks!
The last time I saw you, you pressed a flyer into my hand telling me to come to your music video launch party. How did that go and what can you tell us about the video?
The song for the video is “Bigos“, a traditional polish meat stew made of sauerkraut. The video esthetic is inspired by the polish 90s movement Disco Polo, check out the fabulous video “Hey czy ty wiesz” by Classic. The idea about my video is to represent the basic concept of TEKKNO POLO: Be polish, not polished.

Interview with La Chatte
Hello La Chatte. Thank you for your time. Would be so kind as to introduce yourselves individually and explain your part in the band?
Vava: My name is Vava Dudu as in French “Ca Va”. I’m the singer and writer..
Stephane: I am an artist and musician. I compose and perform the electronic parts and beats of La Chatte.
Nikolu: Hi! I’m the guitarist!
“Bastet” is an interesting album mixed with soundscapes, jerky synths and almost animalistic vocal arrangements. When listening to it, I felt like I was in a fantasy world run by haughty cats and nintendo characters. What can we expect from your next album “Crash Ocean”?
V: I expect to give a Tsunami of love all over the world.
N: “Bastet” was our “black” thing…. “Crash Océan” is our blue one!
S: “Bastet” was a collection of titles that we experienced on stage for many years. The sources of sound and inspiration were very diverse. “Crash Ocean” on the contrary was composed and recorded in a much shorter time. It is more condensed, but still very rough and epidermic. Most of the songs came out from improvisations during a stay of Vava and Nikolu at my place in Berlin, with very few material. A beat box and a line of synth, a guitar and a great quantity of white wine. Some of the songs were made in just one take. Blue synthetic tears on waving crystalline furs… That’s how I see the songs of this album.

Dat Politics new video and single: “Corpsicle”
Dat Politics new video and single ”Corpsicle” from Blitz Gazer LP (Sub Rosa)
Dat Politics’ new album “Blitz Gazer” is an exhilarating reboot in the band’s career. Entirely recorded in Berlin in 2011 by the newly formed duo, this new piece will certainly give satisfaction to the electro-maniac fanbase who will find in these 12 tunes their share of synthetic 80’s hits, catchy loops and bouncy drum machines. Less expected, but pleasantly surprising is their ability to turn the voltage level down by chanting neon lite robo ballads. Some dreamy melodic breaks rise in a rhythmic electric storm. We explore a brand new aspect of the band’s wide influences and possibilities. “Blitz Gazer” is a magnificent patchwork, a dynamic and fanciful mixture that only Dat Politics could have pulled off.
